Yinz Team Fantasy Football

September 9th, 2010 No comments

I’m going on record once again as saying I have no freaking idea who 90% of my team is but they seemed ranked high on Yahoo. All I know about football is what I watch of the Steelers so let me know what you think of this team.

I always draft Romo, don’t know why. Hines was a panic pick when WR were going fast. Heath Miller is my favorite TE. Kellen I think was a Cleve Brownie, Devin has a cool last name, Donovan was a pick up so Woy (whom didnt have any QB by the 7th round) would have even a more limited selection at QB, and the rest no clue. Oh wait i had chester Taylor last season and I think he bombed every game.

No idea how I’ll do but eh the trash talking is why I do this.

Now if it was hockey… all your asses would be mine! MUWHAHAHAHAHA!

Fantasy Football final standings

January 4th, 2010 No comments

Yinz Team
4th – Cindy handed my ass to me in the 3rd place game 132.30-80.63. Had I started Kris Brown the previous week I would have been in the title game against Shireman and never lived down the shame of losing to him. I’m better off in 4th.

Hop Heads Anon2
7th – at least I finished at .500 (7-7) Far cry from my title run a couple of years ago.

RMU NFL Pick’m
2nd – lost first place by 2. Thank you NE and Indy for tanking the last week. Next year picking all favorites is off limits. just sayin…

Cluni Paluni Salumi Meat Bowl
3rd – well so far. I suck at college football bowls. Oh yeah there are only 4 teams in this one.

Yinz Team Pigskin Pick’em
2nd – the wife of the comish won this league. I think there was insider trading.

So what does this show? I can pick teams to win each week really well but when it comes to individuals I’m a huge ball of suck. I may have to work some pre-draft trades in Yinz league.

Fantasy Football update: bucket of suck

I love fantasy football with my friends because I talk a lot of smack. I won’t lie. The fact that I really don’t know wtf I’m doing makes it even more fun. I’ve said it before, I know stats so my draft usually sucks but I pick up a lot in free agency, trades and watching trends. This year has been rather good to me but yesterday the bottom dropped out and people are catching up. Here’s where we’re at so far with this week’s downfall.

Yinz Team: Capt. Geech (4-2) – I lost to Pitt Girl (Skippy’s Sluts) yesterday and Jeff Reed celebrated by getting arrested for being a drunken mess again. I’m not making excuses even though my top QB and RB were on BYE weeks and Willie Parker still has alien toe but I shall take the loss gracefully since she can only beat me when I field replacements :)  See you in the playoffs sweetheart!

Hop Heads Anonymous 2: Utensils (3-3) - Tom Brady, I hate you. Seriously, go play in traffic. In this league he racked up 84 points last night and I lost in the greatest landslide of our league 195-104 to Irish Car Bomb.

RMU Pick’m: CaptGeecj&ShrimpShackShooters (62 points) - This is a league where you pick the winners each week. I currently have a 2 point lead over ShruteFarms which was once 4. Philly and the Jets really biffed up my selections by blowing their games. Chicago, why did I even bother.

Yinz Team Pick’m: fatherspoon (61 points) - Another pick’m like previous but in this league i’m currently 4th. Previously I was 2nd and 1st. Every week this changes and the same results as above. I don’t mind seeing Uncle Crappy in the top slot since he’s a Browns fan and with Ohio State losing this weekend also I think he needs the good news.

Romo, Gore and Parker will all be back and healthy next week and I play Papuga. Bring it on lil lady!

Grounds for divorce

encore

You see that screen… that was the present Lushie gave me. It was the ripping out of my souuuuullllll! *UUGGGHH*  KHAAAAAANNNNN!

Our Starz/Encore package is gone because she wanted HBO/Cinemax to watch True Blood (and eventually Big Love). The problem? Encore is in the middle of a Back to the Future trilogy/That Thing You Do twin bill that comes around every few months. Since it’s Encore you can count on these being shown 5 times a day and yes, I watch them every single time they’re on. Doesn’t matter if I ever own these movies, if they’re on, I’ll watch. Yes, I have an unhealthy obsession with watching Marty, Doc and The Wonders.

Lushie thinks I need to seek help, I think she doesn’t appreciate the classics. First off, if you don’t appreciate Back to the Future you’re un-american. You’re a commie. This movie will stand the test of time as not only a great family movie but a fantastic guy flick. It has a sweet car, hot ladies, fights and everyone’s wish to time travel but the whole seeing our parents as youth is creepy. For the fam it has a love story, the soulful lyrics of Huey Lewis and how you can make your own future. It’s inspirational! Teaspoon LOVES watching this with daddy and every time he’s fascinated. You can be whatever and whomever you want.  See… its educational.

That Thing You Do is more of an Erie thing that I have ties to. First off it was filmed in Erie during the 90′s close to where I lived. Actually close to where everyone lived because honestly Erie isn’t THAT big. I can get from one end of town to the other in 10-15 minutes max. Secondly, I was working at Tinseltown when the movie debuted and all of the stars were coming to the theater. I spent a solid month at first annoyed hearing the music from the movie to gaining an obsessions. You get subjected to a movie 5 times a day 5-6 days a week eventually you start to lose it. It would be a good 8 years before I finally watched it again and the obsession started all over.  We’re pretty crazy in Erie, Penn :)   BTW, my fantasy football team is Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters.

What should I do now? I could get the movies on DVD but why, it’s not the same. I have a few movies already that I never watch but if they come on TV I can’t turn them off. Universities should spend some time studying this instead of why people get angry when punched in the face. *sigh* I think I need a moment to mourn this loss.

HBO, help a brother out… how about a marathon.

Fantasy football and dead bees

deadbeeceiling

  • Yinz Team Fantasy Football draft was last night. Don’t ask me who I drafted because after round 3, I was just picking random names. I never claimed to be good at football, I just like the trash talk with other owners during the season. If my team, Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters, win more than 4 games I’ll be impressed.
  • Its been 3 weeks since the “Great Bee Invasion of 2009” and still no one has come to remove all of the dead soldiers in my ceiling. In fact the phone always rings busy when we call. Nice eh? At the top is pic of their solution when they left. I’m not kidding.

What does .1 look like in Fantasy Football?

That right there.

In the 2008/09 edition of the Yinz Team Celebrity Blogger/Podcaster Fantasy Football Because Hockey Hasn’t Started Yet League, I lost the first week by a score of 80.47 – 80.37 because Chester fucking Taylor couldn’t run one more yard.

It is Uncle Crappy though and since he is a talented journalist and craft beer enthusiast I won’t dog on him too bad. He does lead a life of ridicule being a Browns fan and that right there even makes Pope Benny XVI go “aw dude… sorry man.”

Just to recap, I lost to THIS guy.  I shall go into the box and feel much shame. Fuckin Chester.

prost!

2007 Pittsburgh Celebrity Blogger Fantasy Football Draft

August 14th, 2007 No comments

draftboard.jpg

Jim from sportsocracy.org and the Creative Treehouse hosted the 2007 Pittsburgh Celebrity Bloggers fantasy football pool last Friday night. This was my first ever live draft for fantasy football so I really didn’t know what to expect. I’ll be the first to admit that I know nothing about picking football players. I like to watch the game but hands down I’m a hockey fan so this was a nice change of pace. Some of the teams spent time and energy analyzing players and team stats while I walked to the board and picked whomever looked familiar :)

So here we go, my team for 2007 in the order they were picked:

01) Steve Jackson (RB)
02) Antonio Pittman (RB)
03) Marvin Harrison (WR)
04) Kellen Winslow (TE)
05) Tony Gonzalez (TE)
06) Tony Romo (QB)
07) Joey Galloway (WR)
08) Terry Glenn (WR)
09) Chad Pennington (QB)
10) Antwaan Randle El (WR)
11) Stephen Gostkowski (K)
12) Chris Henry (RB)
13) Colts (D)
14) J. J. Arrington (RB)
15) Anthony Gonzalez (WR)

Here is the list of people in the league and who they represent…

I’ll keep you update as the season goes on! Week 1 has my team vs PittGirl (The Burgh Blog)
