I am definitely not a sneaker person (or "tenners" as we call them here in redneckville). I haven't found a pair I like or am comfortable wearing in many years. Seriously - the last time I wore sneakers with any regularity was when I was 17 and wearing little white keds - 24 years ago. Since then, every pair I try feel so bulky. But I'm not out of touch enough to still wear keds.

Phil, I don't own an ipod either and probably never will just like I have no intention of owning an iphone. You can keep your futuristic shoe and live in the Matrix. Probably would help if I had someone to work out and train with so until then I'll stick with my wii

sunshine, I love my sandals also. forgot to mention that.

Shoe technology has been around for years, you out of touch yinzer. While Reebok has had some pretty nifty toys (the pump, the special SHAQ shoes) nothing beats what Nike and Apple have done for runners.

I've recently abandoned cycling for running and the new Nike+ transmitter/iPod sensor has actually made running (and walking) fun and interesting. You put the transmitter in your Nike+ equipped shoe, attach the sensor to your iPod, tell the iPod how much you weigh, and calibrate the son-of-a-bitch, and you're literally tracking every single inch you walk or run, every calorie you burn, and every second you're on the road.

No one wants to run just to run. We run to know that we're making progress. Shoes can get expensive, yes -- especially the Lunarglide - http://store.nike.com/index.jsp?country=US&lang_locale=en_US#l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-241565/pgid-241567 - but they feel awesome, and they do much more than protect our feet on the road. They make getting in shape fun again.

Join in, you old bastard! Before it's too late!
