I've heard a lot of complaints about that place and I'm assuming she's the one they're talking about. I have family that swears by it but I just don't see it. Is it still only open 2 weeks out of the month?

The owner Nathalie is a complete menace. I worked for her. If you get there and she makes you do something before you get to the time card (and then you forget to clock in), she doesn't pay you for the day. Most of the items she sells there are very close to spoiling or are already past their dates. She hides this by having her employees scratch out the dates, "redate" them with a price gun, unpack the items from the containers with the dates, or in some instances actually repackaging the items. She treats her employees like crap, and you should hear what she says about her customers in private.

@Christine Featherston OK so it wasn't just me that the store seemed bigger. Granted I was a little kid back then but I remember it well.

My mom still jokes when she calls and asks if we want to place an order because of the limited hours. Its a running joke with a bunch of us who moved to Pittsburgh. If Wholey's ever did that here there would be a riot.

We love to go because we raw feed our dogs and we can find not only great deals for us but for items to feed the fur kids as well. I have to say that I would agree with the writer that the hours stink. I understand that they need time to clean and arange things but with busy schedules on our part we pretty much only have the weekends to get there. The Deli is out of the question because it takes way to long to get anything and is not worth waiting in line unless you have a place to just sit and wait. I remember the bigger store as well; wish it were a lot bigger now or that we had something like this in our part of Ohio.

@Reffy

I was up there twice this year in march and April. Both times signs showed they are only open 2 weeks out of the month.

Oh wow no way! I'll have to find out when I'm going to Erie next time to visit family. I'll also have to let some friends know. They're usually looking for quality seafood when they spend weekends up there.

Thanks Kevin!

No, your mom was mistaken - it's closed the last week of every month and occasionally an extra week (like at xmas-new years), but not normally 2 weeks a month.
