Since tomorrow is one of my favorite days of the year, Groundhog Day, I thought it only fitting to post this montage from the 1993 classic Groundhog’s Day. If you’ve never seen it, Phil (Bill Murray) is a weatherman from Pittsburgh who is in Punxy covering the groundhog event but when a snowstorm delays returning home Phil wakes up reliving Groundhog’s day over and over again until he gets it “right”.

C’mon, buddy. Case Western High. I did the whistling belly-button trick at the high school talent show? Bing!

      Funny thing is that I’ve been to Punxy for Groundhog Day, and it amazed me how the actual partying and revelry happened:

      A) In a field in the middle of nowhere
      B) Way, way, way earlier than in the movie… meaning the night before.

      It was awesome though… maybe because I was on a Jim Beam kick.

      What sucks now is that the partying is alcohol free. Residents apparently didn’t like Punxy lookin like Pittsburgh’s South Side after a summer Saturday night.

      We had talked about going this year but Lushie came down with the flu earlier this week.

      Oh well there is always Groundhog’s Day 2013 when it’s on a Saturday again!
