I ventured into the world of soups tonight. This is the first one I ever made and I have to say that it was perfect after a few modifications for my taste. Is a soup ever perfect the way it’s written? You need to give it your own special flare.

This is a Gorgonzola IPA soup. I’m a huge hophead when it comes to craft beer so I happened to have a few bottles in the fridge. The original recipe came from my good friend, fellow podcaster, homebrewer, foodie and one hella model american Phil from My Life as a Foodie and Dude Night. I’m toying with starting a vidcast on cooking with craft beer. I’ve done plenty of beer based meals on the grill with it and now that I have an appetizer (or full meal).

I’m not sure if he will be using this for a future show so I won’t publish the recipe right now. I did email him to find out so if I get the OK it’s all yours.

Once a day for the whole month of November I posted to keep up with the NaBloPoMo challenge. I’ve always been pretty sporadic when it came to blogging so this was a fun task to take up. Thanks to Cindy, Rachel, Woy and Uncle Crappy for keeping me motivated with their daily postings.

Today is soup day and we’re going to be making Gorgonzola & Pale Ale Soup. The name itself is making me hungry. I’ll post pics and details later. I’m off to my cheese monger for some good Gorgonzola. Of course I already have a pale ale in the fridge. What were you thinking? sheesh!
